Swift Referrals

My vet made an emergency referral to Swift, they were excellent from the first phone call, through treatment and on discharge. Really lovely friendly staff, excellent vets and nurses. My dog got the best care there.

We took Marla to the vets out of hours for treatment for IVDD, and from the moment we arrived, the team did everything they could to make her comfortable and reassure us. Her surgery was successfully completed the following morning, and she stayed in for a few days so she could receive the care and aftercare she needed. Throughout her stay, we were kept constantly updated on her progress, which gave us so much reassurance during what was an incredibly stressful time. The team were also available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns we had, and we always felt that Marla was in the best possible hands. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who cared for Marla and helped her through such a difficult time. Thank you for looking after her so well and for supporting us every step of the way.

We came to Swift after Spud our mini daxie was diagnosed with IVDD. From the first conversation about his referral on the phone, to picking him up after surgery, the communication and compassion we saw from the entire team at Swift was amazing. They guided us through how to organise our insurance and walked us through the process of the surgery and all our options. We were called at every stage, after his scan, before surgery, after surgery, every night and every morning. When we called for updates and the team were busy with emergencies they called back when they said they would, and that is everything when you are worrying at home. We felt as though Spud had been loved and looked after and we are so thankful to everyone for mending our boy. A long recovery ahead of us but knowing that his surgery was successful and he should make a great recovery is very encouraging. Thank you very much!

The experts who care is what it says in reception and we couldn’t agree more with that statement. Our chihuahua had been poorly and was under the care of our local vet when he suddenly had a seizure at the weekend. It was very scary indeed but our vet had given us Swift Referrals leaflet the day before in case we needed help on the Sunday. We called and took him straight over where he was seen straight away. From reception to the vets everyone was caring and compassionate whilst advocating for our little man. They were honest but even when things weren’t looking good and he had another seizure with difficult decisions that might have to be made, they told us there was no rush and to give it another 24 hours in their care to see how he went. We have just collected our precious family member and brought him home. The care at Swift has been exceptional and we feel better knowing that if we need them, they are there 24/7. Thank you to all the team there.

Our miniature dachshund Rhubarb became ill quickly, our vets referred us to swift with potential IVDD. They got us in the same day and he was diagnosed with stage 2 IVDD. I was offered options of crate rest and medical management or surgery, I opted for surgery. The surgeon Dan was really helpful and offered me all options, he was taken for an mri and had the surgery performed. I was kept updated by Dan daily, unfortunately he developed a blood clot but this was removed quickly, though this was a set back and meant he came home with no use of his back legs, he has gone on to make a full recovery and is back to his usual self. The aftercare from swift was amazing, both Dan and the veterinary nurses and the reception staff supported us daily during his time there, and kept us informed in what was a really worrying time for us all. Fantastic care, very quick to act and respond. Rory in particular was amazing with my cat and is continuing to keep up to date with his ongoing recovery and care. Cannot fault the service. Very reassuring in times of serious pet illness.

A positive experience at a difficult time.

We had to take our dog to Swift Emergencies on a Sunday afternoon. Our own vets was closed and their out of hours service is Swift. We were really concerned about our dog and from the initial phone call to discharge 5 days later, the whole experience has been 5 star plus! All the staff were really helpful, and explained everything clearly. They have made a very stressful few days, a little bit more bearable.
